Event Description:
The public is invited to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Fort Oglethorpe becoming a city with the showing of the 1945 World War II movie about the Women’s Army Corps, “Keep Your Powder Dry.” The movie starred Lana Turner and was filmed at the Army Post showing scenes of Barnhardt Circle, the parade field and Post buildings. Members of the 1st WAC Battalion will be attending in full dress uniforms. Liberty Baptist Church, where the movie will be shown, was originally The Post's movie theater. Admission is free.
